Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Cherry Optometry, PC the leading provider of vision care products and services in Chelsea.

Dr. Paula E. Koch

Dr. Paula Koch has practiced optometry for 20 years, working in settings large and small in Ann Arbor, Tecumseh, Saline and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. She started Cherry Optometry in 2008, committed providing high quality eye care with a focus on service. Dr. Koch is a member of the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and graduated with high honors from Ferris State University’s College of Optometry.

Her fascination with the eye began much earlier – she came home from school one day in seventh grade and announced that she wanted to be an eye doctor. Decades later her enthusiasm for people, science and technology still shines.

A Warren native, Dr. Koch currently lives in Saline with her husband and two sons. She enjoys gardening and downhill skiing, does a little cycling and watches a lot of youth baseball. Though she doesn’t have much prescriptive need for glasses, Dr. Koch has three pair because she loves all the fun frames that are available.

Dr. Michelle Danko

Dr. Michelle Danko has been practicing at Cherry Optometry since graduating from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2017. Dr. Danko is a member of Michigan Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Danko’s passion for primary care optometry came from when she was 13 years old and fit in contacts for the first time, so that she could put on a softball helmet without worrying about her glasses falling off.

Growing up in Grass Lake, Dr. Danko always knew she wanted to deliver eye care in a small town, so she could get to know her patients at a more personal level.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Danko’s enjoys hiking, skiing, and
spending lots of time with her family.
